RJPC Studios Launches Trillberry Murder House: When Reality Slashes, a New Horror-Comedy Series from Filmmaker Robert Jerome Pagan
The original episodic production combines classic slasher suspense, outrageous character comedy, and a mysterious competition where surviving one game only means facing another.
LAS VEGAS, NEVADA — RJPC Studios has officially released the premiere episode of Trillberry Murder House: When Reality Slashes, a new original horror-comedy series written and directed by filmmaker Robert Jerome Pagan. The debut episode, Let the Games Begin, is now streaming on the official RJPC Studios YouTube channel, introducing audiences to a deadly competition where the contestants may be the least trustworthy people in the room.
Inspired by the atmosphere of 1980s slasher entertainment and the increasingly absurd spectacle of modern reality television, Trillberry Murder House brings an ensemble of eccentric personalities into a setting where supernatural mysteries, past crimes, and dangerous games collide. What begins as a competition quickly develops into something more disturbing, as the participants find themselves caught between an unpredictable set of rules and a mysterious Game Host who seems to know considerably more than anyone else.
The series marks a new chapter in Pagan's expanding body of independent film and television work, establishing Trillberry Murder House as a standalone episodic production with its own identity, ongoing story, and distinct approach to horror.
Rather than relying exclusively on the familiar conventions of the slasher genre, the production uses comedy to create tension and tension to expose the absurdity of its characters. At any given moment, an argument, an unexpected revelation, or an apparently ridiculous competition rule can shift into something genuinely unsettling. The result is a series that embraces the theatricality of horror without sacrificing the personality-driven storytelling at its center.
Pagan leads the ensemble as Oscar J. Evans, joined by Erick Lyles as Calabe, Keith Gorman as Roger, Griffin Lee Schoon as Dorain, Brantson Long as JJ, Malcolm Ambrose as Curtis, Ustat Sidhu as the CEO and Game Host, and Deborah Kosnett as Mrs. G. The cast also features Brett Keener as Jay, Marla Stafford as the Voice of Agatha, Tim Ballard as the Shape of Moffitt, and Chance Mintarzan as the Cameraman and Pool Guy.
Although audiences familiar with Pagan's earlier Trillberry productions will recognize some of the characters and their complicated histories, the new series is designed to function independently. Its central mystery, episodic storytelling, and expanding competition provide an entry point for viewers encountering these characters for the first time.
Behind the camera, Pagan maintains extensive creative responsibility for the production, serving as writer, director, cinematographer, editor, colorist, and sound designer. He and Geovani Sandoval serve as producers and executive producers, with Keith Gorman and Erick Lyles serving as associate producers.
That hands-on production approach reflects the creative philosophy behind RJPC Studios: developing original entertainment in which writing, performance, cinematography, sound, and music contribute to a cohesive artistic identity.
Music also plays an important role in shaping the series' atmosphere. The premiere incorporates original work by Pagan and Oscar and the Trillberries, and concludes with the song October After Dark, bringing the episode to a close with a distinctly retro-horror sensibility.
The first installment introduces the Murder House and its contestants, establishes the increasingly questionable competition, and begins laying the groundwork for the mysteries to follow. Its final moments belong to Agatha, whose unexpected Twinking and Drinking sequence provides one last unsettling and outrageous turn before the contestants face their next game.
That combination of horror, spectacle, mystery, and irreverent comedy is central to the identity of Trillberry Murder House. The series is as interested in the people trapped inside its competition as it is in the competition itself, finding opportunities for humor and tension in the characters' conflicting motivations, personalities, and relationships.
For RJPC Studios, the premiere represents more than the release of another independent production. It establishes a new serialized property within the company's growing catalog of original film, television, theatrical, audio, and musical work, while continuing Pagan's commitment to character-driven storytelling and genre experimentation.
With Episode One now available, audiences can enter the Murder House, meet its contestants, and discover what happens when a game stops being entertainment.
Because in Trillberry Murder House, the end of one round is only the beginning of another.
